Files .cpgp
The selected file stays in place and a protected copy is created beside it. Each file uses its own password and separate key.
Clever PGP encrypts files and virtual disks directly on your computer. Without the correct password or key, the contents remain encrypted, and the developer has no universal recovery key.
An independent random key is created for each file.
The container mounts as a separate Windows drive.
Use an individual encrypted file for transfer and storage, or a full virtual disk for everyday work.

A container mounts as its own drive letter. Files copied into it are automatically stored encrypted.
A separate hidden volume with its own password can be created inside the container. The password entered determines which volume is mounted.
Clever PGP supports XChaCha20-Poly1305 and AES-256-GCM. You can choose the suitable option when creating a protected drive.
Encryption, decryption and disk operations are available from File Explorer. A mounted disk keeps working independently of the main window.
No cloud account, subscription or activation server is required. File and drive passwords are not stored in the app settings.
Install Clever PGP, choose a file or create a protected drive, set a password — the app handles the rest.
Run the installer and wait for setup to finish.
Protect one file or create a separate protected drive.
You will use this password to open the protected file or drive.
Open and use protected data through Clever PGP or Windows File Explorer.
Clever PGP is built around a simple idea: encrypted data should only open for someone with the correct password or key. PGP protection systems follow the same core principle.
Protection uses XChaCha20-Poly1305 and AES-256-GCM. They hide the contents and let the app verify that encrypted data has not been changed.
Without the correct password, Clever PGP does not reveal the contents of a protected .cpgp file. A strong, long password adds further protection.
Each protected file gets an independent random key. One file does not reuse another file’s key.
A .cpgv container mounts like a normal Windows drive only after correct unlocking. Files inside are stored encrypted.
The developer has no secret key that can open any of your files or drives. Access depends on your password and the key for that specific data.
File and drive passwords are not stored in Clever PGP settings and are not required by an external server for decryption.
When opening data, Clever PGP verifies its integrity. Damage or tampering is detected before normal use of the contents.
Files and passwords do not need to be sent to a cloud service. Core protection operations are performed locally on your computer.
Clever PGP keeps evolving with new protection options, useful features and improvements for everyday work.
