What happens to a container hidden area after an update?

Question

Will data and existing settings survive installation of a newer version?

Алмас О. · Accepted Answer

The hidden area uses a separate password and should not reuse the regular area secret. Practice with a test container first. Back up important data, then test one item with the new version before doing bulk work.
